The item reads<br /> <br /> Attention citizens of Greenwood and surrounding area<br /> The revolutionary forces at work in this area have begun a boycott of certain business establishments in the city of Greenwood.<br /> <br /> This useless troublemaking agitation is being sponsored by a group of draft card burning disloyal pro communist riffraff known as the Mississippi freedom Democratic Party it’s local prime mover is a nigger preacher who runs a shoe repair business on Johnson Street. JD Collins has prospered in Greenwood and he is repaying this town for its goodness to him by trying to destroy it<br /> <br /> We have the manpower and the willpower to remove the scum from the streets but we do not wish to bring this type of trouble to the good name of our fair city. We will not stoop to the level of the trash who seek to promote chaos in our city.<br /> <br /> There are several things which we ask all good citizens both white and colored to do to counteract these troublemakers.<br /> <br /> They picked the time of the year when business is generally slow so as to impress their gullible followers with the success of their efforts. We should all make a special effort to be on the streets of downtown Greenwood as much as possible so as to put the lie to their claims of success. Law-enforcement officials and responsible private citizens will be on hand to see to it that everyone is protected on our city streets.<br /> <br /> The primary object of this so-called boycott is the liberty cash grocery owned by Mr. Sam Killebrew. Mr. Killebrew has been more tolerant with the colored element of his trade and almost any other businessman in town and some of them are rewarding him by trying to destroy his business. Neither he nor in any other businessman can meet the impossible demands of this nefarious group. We should all make a special effort to do some of our grocery buying at the store.<br /> <br /> Any effort at intimidation by this sorry element against any citizen white or colored should be reported to the law or to any responsible citizen and appropriate action will be taken.<br /> <br /> This is communism in action the end justifies the means and they only succeed where ignorance and timidity prevail.<br /> <br /> We worn this group who is not only our enemy but the enemy of all good citizens of this area not to misinterpret our intentions. Current communist goals<br /> The 45 current communist goals listed below appeared in the Congressional record of January 10, 1963. They were taken from the naked communist by W. CLEON skousen who began his extensive study of communism during his 16 year term of service with the federal Bureau of investigation. Mr. SKOUSEN is now field director of the American security council.<br /> <br /> One. US acceptance of coexistence of the old as the only alternative to atomic war.<br /> Two. US willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.<br /> Three. Develop the illusion that totaled his arm it by the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.<br /> Four. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.<br /> Five. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.<br /> Six provide American age all nations regardless of communist denomination.<br /> Seven grant recognition of red China. Admission of red China to let you in.<br /> Eight. Discredit the Bible and emphasize a need for intellectual maturity which does not need a religious crutch.<br /> 28 eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of separation of church and state.<br /> 29 discredit the American Constitution by calling it in adequate old fashion out of step with modern needs a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.<br /> <br /> 30 discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who have no concern for the common man.<br /> 31 Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teachings of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the big picture. This is a memo from Earl Johnston Junior the director of the Mississippi state cut sovereignty commission, to honorable Paul B Johnson, governor and Carol Garten, lieutenant governor. It is dated May 5, 1964, and is on Mississippi state sovereignty commission letterhead. The report is about A D Biettel, Tougaloo college.<br /> <br /> Our pipeline information from Tugaloo says the trustees gave as their reason for dismissal of Dr. Beittel that he was in efficient. This will certainly work to our advantage. Had Dr. Beittel been asked to resign because of racial agitation or collaboration with communist front organizations, he could have made a martyr out of himself. As it is, he can say nothing because the trustees would naturally answer any statement he made by stating he was discharge for inefficiency. And it efficiency rating is difficult for any professor to overcome in seeking new employment.<br /> <br /> We also have been informed that the bill we proposed in the legislature two separate authority of the Mississippi a credit in commission from the southern association is a weapon very much feared by Tugaloo authorities. If Mississippi accreditation is taken away they stand to lose considerable money which otherwise would be available from certain foundations. This bill, SB1794, it’s now all the Senate calendar, and we recommend that it be speedily past and signed into law.<br /> <br /> We also are informed that during the weekend, the SNCC office on Lynch Street in Jackson had on display a big picture of Kruschev with this caption “our man in Moscow.“ We have pass this information onto local press for a possible news picture if the photograph is still on display.<br /> <br /> We have had no direct contact with the Tugaloo trustees since the announcement about Dr. Beittel <br /> <br /> We will keep you informed as to future developments.<br /> <br /> Signed Earl Johnston Junior.<br /> <br /> CC: Honorable Shelby Rogers

The letter is written on Faulkner concrete pipe company letterhead based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.<br /> <br /> The letter written on December 13, 1945 reads:<br /> <br /> Mr. LE Faulkner, vice president, Mississippi central railroad Hattiesburg, Mississippi.<br /> <br /> Dear Mr. Faulkner:<br /> <br /> There is no basis at all for the article in the Hattiesburg Merrick and of December 11 in titled, “principal denies weekly is read“. Neither Mr. Wallace nor Mr. Blair would permit the teaching of communism or socialistic doctrine in the school.<br /> <br /> The basis of a name citizen subjection seems to have been a biographical sketch of senator Wagner and some other socialistic communistic person whose name I do not recall. Such articles appear in all news weeklies at all news dailies, and very often in the Hattiesburg American. I think it is another case of Andy harm in having popped off without justification. I sometimes think Andy’s main object in life is to stir up strife in the community.<br /> <br /> The board of trustees would not permit on American doctrines to be taught in the schools. Is Congress already yielding allegiance to the purse strings of communism? Is communism so strongly entrenched in the high places of this land that he who refuses to serve them must be eliminated? Why should communism seek to unseat Senator Bilbo? For the past several years, Bilbo has been an outstanding opponent of communism. His name is high on the must eliminate list of communism. To attack and asked Bilbo is to silence other senators and to make them amenable to direct control – to intimidate them. The communists organized a purge during the recent political campaign. The purpose of that purge, overtly conducted in the CIO and PAC groups, was to defeat those politicians and others, who were outspoken against communism. Bilbo was not defeated. Public records to close that CIO and PAC groups did not oppose any member of Congress who had not openly voiced antagonism against the communist party.<br /> <br /> December 26, 1945, a letter was mailed to every member of the Congress, and the other public officials. He had every right to express his opinion of the subject. Yet communism crucified him for doing so. While I do not necessarily subscribe to his opinions, my organization will fight to the limit for his right to express that opinion. In doing so, he stepped on the corners of certain groups-for the subject was one commonly used by communist as a ready means of Augmentin is power in membership,.
