Parlor

14.5-inch bisque doll, Natasha Burgess, stands in her dollhouse parlor, where there are chairs, a table, a couch, and various other miniature items.

A cozy place for Natasha Burgess (doll) to spend a quiet evening, the parlor features comfortable seating and an ample fireplace.

The parlor contains items from various creators, all of whom showed incredible skill in producing these miniature creations.

  • The Oriental rug in the parlor is a Kerman design, hand-knotted in blue silk. It has 1,000 hand-tied knots per inch and was made in China through the auspices of Tom Atiyeh of Atiyeh International, Ltd. of Newberg, Oregon.
  • Harp (behind Tasha). Tiger maple and brass. Hand-painted gold decorations. Signed H. W. Smith, ’78. Harry Smith is a well-known miniaturist who has created pieces for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Gift of Tasha Tudor.
  • Grandfather clock. Burl finish with gold scrolling in the spirit of those on the harp.
  • Sofa and armchairs. Empire/Victorian period. Reupholstered by Harry Davis.
  • Tea table. Queen Anne. Red paint. Made by Seth Tudor, through Gene Bourne.
