Kitchen

Tudor Place dollhouse kitchen, with cast-iron cook stove, copper pots, kitchen table, chairs and benches, working water pump sink, and many miniature foods and dishes.

The Tudor Place dollhouse has a wonderfully well-stocked kitchen, with a working cook stove, plenty of storage, and a fully functional pump sink.

The kitchen was a place where Tasha Tudor spent much of her time, particularly around her favorite holiday, Christmas. Natasha's kitchen is similarly filled with all of the things this doll might need to put together an incredible holiday gathering of friends and family.

  • Cupboard. North Shore dresser. Red paint. Made by Seth Tudor, through Gene Bourne. This is a copy of the full-size cupboard in Tasha’s kitchen at Corgi Cottage. The provenance file (in the Harry Davis (Tasha Tudor) Papers at the de Grummond Collection) contains a two-page detailed drawing, to scale, with description, in Seth’s handwriting.
  • Crocks. Tasha had several dozen of these made by a Vermont potter. Several are in her dollhouse in Williamsburg. The majority were used to hold water or food for her birds in various cages at Corgi Cottage.
  • Cast iron cook stove. "Little Fanny." Identical to the one in Tasha’s dollhouse in Williamsburg. Completely useable. Tasha’s children used to place it on the hearth and cook bacon for the cat.
  • Sink. Scrubbed top, Naples yellow paint. Copper insert. Very similar to Tasha’s own sink at Corgi Cottage. The pump is iron and brass. Made by Seth Tudor, through Gene Bourne. The sink actually pumps water by means of a recirculating pump beneath.
  • Various hand-painted porcelain vegetables and hand-woven baskets.
