Tudor Place (with external lighting)

Tudor Place, or The Secret Dollhouse, was designed by Tasha Tudor's business partner, Harry Davis. Davis created the design for the house in 1999, basing it on Tudor's first place of residence as an adult: a townhouse on Beacon Hill in her hometown of Boston.

Several talented individuals contributed to the dollhouse's creation:

  • Harry Davis of Richmond, Virginia: designer, ceiling plasterer, interior decorator
  • Greg Hershey of Richmond, Virginia: builder
  • Chris Moser of Richmond, Virginia: lighting installation
  • Jim Orum of Richmond, Virginia: wallpapering (bedroom)
  • Ann Jackson Sandler of Richmond, Virginia: painter (exterior limestone blocks, fireplace mantel marbelizing, finish on library walls)

Harry Davis generously donated the house and its contents to the de Grummond Children's Literature Collection in 2022.
