My Dear Mrs. Burney,

I'm glad the Division had the recognition through you, if its given on percentage of correct applications, I am sure this Division can be first next year. I have three applications waiting on our treasurer, who is having her daughter marry Thurdsday, says she can't take the time to get the books out. They will come along next week. Too, I'll write Alabama people who may find some printed record of Geoerge D. Cleere.

Its alright with me for your Chapter to have given you the endorsement, but its a mistake that my name will not be presented for president. I have never said it, neither has my Chapter. They wanted to endorse me at last meeting, but I felt it was too early, since the Division has begged people to take office last few years. I know I was two years ago.

I told them at that time if my husband stayed well, it was alright. He was 70 years old and I felt came first. However he is even better at that time, just two years older. We had heard two people were looking for some one to defeat me, but I'm glad its you, I think we can have an agreeable campaign, at least. You'd be interested in some letters I have since your announcement.

Mrs. Beck told me over the phone of new officers and I thought she said Mrs. Saucier was registrar. I knew she had been ill, and she took her sorrow so seriously. I'm sure Mrs. Carson will be good. Mrs. Jaco wrote me a Certificate of any person could not get another person into UDC, that it had to be Certificate of the soldier's service, or # 3 on application historical proof.

Thank you for the approval of my work, I am not going to send them until they are right. I did not send the one just returned, I do have that file of some thirty letters to take back to Mrs. Pittman, it should be a warning to people, members of old chapters, before 1928, to get their papers correct and registered.

With good wishes,

Sincerly,
Mrs. Neal
