Donors are invaluable to libraries. These donors enhance library services and collections by providing materials previously unavailable to researchers. Sam E. Woods was one of these donors.
Mr. Woods gave hundreds of rare and valuable books to Special Collections, which have benefited countless researchers at The University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, and abroad. In addition to his contribution to Special Collections at the University of Southern Mississippi, Woods also served the United States through his work in the diplomatic service during World War II.
This exhibit strives to highlight and honor the man who gave so much to Special Collections, the University of Southern Mississippi, and the country.
